That's a dangerous sentence to write with the word "pricker" being bandied around.😬😬

The hole you see goes through a little ball which can be moved around a bit in its housing ideally using a bit of straight steel wire the size of the hole but a pin or needle should be ok. Don't push it in too far or it will go right through and stop you moving it far enough. Don't use a lot of force or you may break it off which will be a real pain. Ideally you should cut off the point using side cutters or pliers with a cutting section as that will get rid of the weak section.

I'll see if I can find a video. Here -

Here's a more comprehensive one going over the diagnostics to find what is wrong...

Klondy, I can help but think that you're trying to explain the nuances of Rachmaninov's third piano concerto to wimmin who struggle with three blind mice.

Oh pipe down you.  :nooo:

I'll have you know Klondike has been very helpful,  particularly with that second video.

YouTube has videos showing how to fix all sorts of things. I wouldn't expect most to be able to, say, change a gearbox and fit a new clutch from watching one but car screen washers  are pretty straightforward and the biggest obstacle to at least finding out what is wrong is often daring to try.

Modern cars are often a mystery but some bits haven't changed much since the days when the only way I could afford to run one was by skinning my knuckles and blacking my hands by fixing the damn things myself often with help from others.

Mups has to watch this every time she wants to go out as she forgets which way to turn the crank handle

Why don't you post a photograph of your bonnet and someone can help?

No!  Not your Easter bonnet, Crumpy!

Don't expect any gratitude for trying to help her (or indeed t'other one).  They only have eyes for oh-so-Mr-Perfect Klondike.

Ashy

Apologies to everyone who didn't know what a jet pricker is. I've got a set of them like the picture, an essential for anyone with a gas cooker.
