Who knows a bit about cars?

My windscreen washers aren't working as well as they used to.
When I press the squirter,  they only spurt water about 2 or 3"  up the window,  so the top half of glass doesn't even get wet any more.

What's up with it,  and is it something I can fix myself?
Ta muchly.

Use a needle to push through the nozzles (carefully) to see if that helps.  Might just be a bit of gunk in the spray heads.

You can also use that needle to steer the little ball in the mount to point the jet where you want it to go.

Have you got water in the bottle ?    just asking.....

dextrous63

If that doesn't work, you could always get one of these (or even build one using a bucket with a lid, and a bit of garden hose😬)

Yes.  I always check that, thanks  Alex.

I will try poking a needle in first -  that's if I can reach the holes to stick it in.

Don't forget to move it to angle them up if necessary. You should be able to see which way they point from the direction the needle is pointing.

Oh dear!! I don't even know where the spray holes are.

Neither do I yet!    After looking at different Youtube things,  they mostly seem in the middle of the bonnet,  but there's nothing on the bonnet of my car.

I am too small to easily reach the middle of the windscreen, so I'll have to get something to stand on to reach over, I suppose.  Should be fun trying to see down the hole though!

You could lie on the roof and stretch over the windscreen😬😬

Yeah . . .   if you can lift me up on the roof first.

Forklift?🤷🏻♂️

Or, with a bit of imagination, I'm sure you could set up a zip wire and pulley from an upstairs window and use one of these...

Sit in car. Activate eyes. Activate memory. Activate screen wash. Note where water comes from. Exit car. Remember where water came from. Identify washer jet position based on remembered information.

Jobs a good 'un? Finished.

Still can't find washer jets? Book in with Specsavers or alternately surrender driving licence.

Leave ignition on.  Attach some string and pulley system to wiper lever/door/ nearby tree trunk etc. leaving one end of string loose on windscreen (blue tack will help stop windblowing it off). Put on harness and trundle down zip wire until over windscreen.  Pull on string to activate washer, and use needle to adjust.

I get the impression that some of my fellow members are doing nothing but taking the piss!
My advice:
Take it to a garage.  I'm sure they won't charge you an arm and a leg.
