Quote from: Raven on October 26, 2024, 04:20:59 PMOhhh Mups, I had that a couple of years ago. My Chiropractor sorted me out along with very strong pain killers. Naproxen 500, they came from the doctor. I still get twinges from it and every 6 weeks my Chiropractor gives it a good going over, along with the rest of me.

I'm surprised a chiropractor can fix tendonitis, Raven?
I go to my lovely lady for bone and muscle problems,  but I wouldn't think she mend inflamed tendons though?

You say you still get twinges sometimes,  and the chap at the hospital did say it can recur occasionally,  especially as we get older,  so be careful, ey.

It don't half hurt, doesn't it,  especially trying to wash and dress, or lift anything.
Was yours a rotator cuff injury?

I will enquire about the pain killers - thanks.  :upvote:
All the doc said was about trying some anti-inflammatory cream rubbed into the skin while I am waiting for the steroid jab.

Mups, I think yours is worse than mine was, I didn't tear it but it built up slowly over a few weeks, it was due to a Repetitive Strain Injury that I didn't realise I was causing myself. It was daily throwing of the ball for Dageus with the long handled lounger thing. I used to really heave it along the beach for him to chase and it put a load of force through my shoulder every throw.
Also swimming 50 lengths between crawl and back stroke daily. Arm above head again, caused a lot of wear n tear. It finally went a week or so into Lockdown, so getting appointments with doctors was not easy, Dunc finally hauled me to a Chiropractor to see if he could help, he was great, was in over an hour that visit, he told me what he thought was up and after the spine adjustment he did a heat massage on my shoulder and it helped. I had to go 3 times a week till I could move it without all the pain, cost a bloody fortune but it worked. He sent an email to my doctor and she phoned me and I got the painkillers also freeze pads, they are excellent and when it flares up I wear one on my shoulder and it numbs it down. I go to the Chiropractor every 6 weeks for an adjustment and he always does a bit of a massage to keep the shoulder lose as it likes to knot it's self up. Also not allowed to swim fast strokes with arm above head anymore just breast stroke and pool walking to strengthen my leg muscles after that awful fall.

Thanks for all the info, Raven.  :upvote:    I will ring my chiropractor tomorrow and have a chat with her, see if she thinks she could help or not.    I have known her for nearly 30 years,  so she knows my body well.

Not much fun is it,  but I am glad you're on the mend.

Raven

Hopefully she will be able to loosen your shoulder for you, I also find that after my swim it's good to go and lie in one of the hot tubs, I always choose the hottest one, and it relaxes the muscles.

Today I'll fill up the petrol tank, which is down to a quarter full, before the budget.

Good morning Jenkay..
How are you... ? Tell us about yourself...

I could divulge that I am out to lunch with Richard Geer --who picked me up in his helicopter - and that we are at present dining in Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill in London.
He said he is taking me to Paris this afternoon.

On the other hand,  I could also tell you I felt so tired this morning that I went back to sleep.
After which all I have done is some washing,  finished my Ocado order, and I am about to pop up to the Co-op.

Make your minds up which you prefer to believe.

The first sounds good Mups
I'm just nipping out to Dunelm to pick up an 'on line' order for flanelette sheets  (or brushed cotton as they prefer to call them today)

Mups

Quiet in here this morning?  Everybody still in bed?

Nothing in particular planned today,  just a quiet day pottering and catching up with jobs.
I'm still getting my breath back from having lunch with Richard Geer yesterday.
