I operate pretty much in braille and starlight at night. I don't put the light on as that wakes me up too much. It's out of bed straight line though the door turn right then left. I have put a little pir battery light in the toilet for reasons that are going to be obvious to any man at least.

If the bedroom door was shut it would be stubbed toes and fingers pain and confusion. If I was shut in the bedroom I'd be in trouble getting out anyway and I doubt the door would keep smoke out.

Must admit I don't always remember and when my cats were here, they stayed open.  One cat was clever and could push door open to get in and pull it to get out

Mups... Feeling much better ... Thank you.. I think I was getting peed off about my balance problems and couldn't be arsed to go to the doctors.. My fault entirely..
  Now that the doctor has spotted blocked ear and nasal problem things might ease..
I'm not stupid .. I am aware that as we age problems arise.. But it was getting to the stage that my head was never fully clear..  It might have been noticed on here...
