Scrumpy

I'm getting old..

Today I had a really sore finger.. I don't know why.. No thorn from the rose bush that I trimmed..
It really was tender..
Later in the day I sat down with a cup of tea..
No sore finger.. I kept pressing and prodding it...
No pain...

I had been pressing and prodding the wrong finger on the wrong hand..
Daft or what... !!!  😃 😊 😀
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Dunno why I laughed. I'm as bad myself.

Alex

Me too.  I've got a bad bruise on the inside of my forearm and no idea how it got there

It's not just bumps and bruises though. Most days something or other will twinge. May as well ignore it as the next day it will be fine but something different will have a twinge.

That's nothing.  My stomach is distended.  I have no idea why, unless it's something to do with the approx 1million calories I've eaten over the last year 🤷🏻♂️😬

Today I tested my central heating just to make sure it is in full working order..
I opened the airing cupboard where all the switches are and for just a moment FORGOT how to turn it on..  Is that a sign of things to come.. !!!

I'm getting forgetful too.  I often forget a word which I had planned to use and have to think of a different one with the same meaning.
In all seriousness, Marge is becoming a little concerned about this and keeps suggesting that I should arrange to see the doctor.  Personally, I think it's not an uncommon thing when we get older.

Dog and I are similar, we walk into rooms..stop..look around wondering why we are there then we walk out...puzzled.

Very common JB but we worry anyway.  I forget words, I would forget appointments if it wasn't for my faithful Alexa mate (she's Australian)

I am so glad these daft memory slips aren't just me.
It's very reassuring to hear others experience these things too.

In fact I did an unbelievably stupid thing yesterday.
Yesterday I spent ages looking for a tube of eye ointment I had sent off for,  one of those things I thought I had put in a 'safe place,'  (because Gertie nicks everything that isn't nailed down otherwise).
I couldn't find it anywhere.

It wasn't till I was in bed last night, still thinking about it,  when I remembered it wasn't being delivered until today!!!

My thanks to all the fellow members who assure me that they are as forgetful as I am.
I shall mention to Marge that I am certainly not alone and have no need to see the doc.

As she is nine years younger than me, I might also mention that (if I am still around in nine years) I shall be observing her as closely as she has been observing me, and am likely to offer the exact same advice to her as she offered to me!

Ironically, I can't recall whether I mentioned on this site how, a few years ago, I was decluttering and found a book on how to improve one's memory which I had totally forgotten that I'd bought.  😳🤣🤣🤣

And me.  The escaping words drive me nuts, and I couldn't cope without my diary.   I remember my granny forgetting things, no one thought it was a big deal, she was just old. But although I'm a similar age, I'm not the lovely little old lady, sitting in the house, that she was. I'm far more robust and active for starters, so it's seriously annoying when my brain plays these tricks.

One of the reasons I do word games, in the hope the brain exercise helps.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖
