Quote from: Mups on September 08, 2025, 11:26:31 AMYes I have, Dex,  but like I just said, I don't know how to upload (or is it download?)  it from a phone.
I ought to perhaps look on Youtube or somewhere, for a demo . .

Can you login to here on your phone?
Or, failing that, can you login to your emails on your phone?

If you can get into your emails, you could email piccies to me as an attachment, and I'll get them on here.

I don't do emails from my phone though, Dex.     I only use my phone for calls,  texts, or camera, or I can google some things.    I can't do emails though.

My daughter in law installed an email programme on it for me,  but it drove me mad, so I uninstalled it again.

When I used to use my old camera, I just plugged it into the computer tower, and transferred the pictures over,  but it doesn't seem to work the same from the phone.

I think I am going to ask Father Christmas for another proper camera.

Aha!  If you can google things then you can get onto here.  You can also use the post images site.

Yes, I could get onto here via google,  but the only way I know how to send pics from my phone is through WhatsAp,  which again,  my DIL installed for me.    She also wrote it all down for me,  so I can usually manage that alright.
I suppose some old farts are just really bad with technology.  I try to cheer myself up by thinking - Ah,  but I perhaps have other skills they don't have.

If you can upload pics to whatsapp you can upload them to postimages then use the links from there to add to posts here. That bit is in the tutorial I told you about before in the hints and tips section.

Which reminds me I must get on with posting the rest of the stuff on using solar assistant.

Ooer,  I didn't know that,  sorry.
Got to get to Northampton for 2 pm,  so can't fiddle with it now, but perhaps later.

I don't upload pics to postimages though, not from my phone anyway.     Pictures I have posted here using  postimages  in the past,  have been old ones that came from my proper camera ages ago and stored on my computer,  not my phone.
Sorry Klondie,  but I really am useless I know.

Another slight problem happened today.   I think I must attract them!

I realised my car MOT was due on the 28th of this month,  but the repairers are coming to collect my car to repair it on the 23rd, and I am unlikely to  get it back in time for the MOT.

I phoned the garage I usually use,  and asked their advice about booking it in early before  its taken away,  but they said if the damage is bad,  or had sharp edges,  they would have to fail it on the MOT.
Thing is,  if I don't take it in,  it will have no MOT by the time it comes back home.
So what would you do?   :hmm:

In the end we agreed for me to pop down there with it tomorrow to let them have a look, and see if they would be able to pass it as it is.
It's not a big dent, and has not got any sharp edges protruding,  so I am hoping they will say it will be ok,  so I can book it in next week before it goes away.

Then I need to get the neighbour to organise his rust bucket to  be taken away, so I can get the hire car into my front drive  off the road.     Honestly,  this seems never-ending.

Yes, I suppose that's best, Scrumps.
I will pop down there shortly  and see what they suggest.

I haven't heard a single word from 'him across the road'  about him moving his car out,  and its been here for a week tomorrow.

MOT booked.   They said the dented wing won't make any difference.  :upvote:

As for the neighbour's car,   I've not got a good feeling about this.
I gave him a phone number yesterday,  of a scrap yard that would come and collect the same day.
I get the feeling he hasn't even bothered to ring them.
It has got to go before my hire car arrives.

Okay I'm going to say it, I did warn you it was a bad idea. There you can slap me now.  :busted:  Anyway if it's not gone in time then get your son or someone with a car to tow it out onto the road in front of his house. It wiil either be collected quickly or someone will report it then he's in trouble.
Am I being bad, some would say yes but, he's broken your agreement and he needs to face the consequences.

Truth be told Raven, I thought at the time you were being a bit harsh.  But, once again, you've proven to be right.

Credit where credit's due. 👍

I didn't. If he hadn't had it scrapped while it was serving as a garden ornament why would he be in any rush to do so now when it is certainly no longer a problem to him.
This is going to cause ill feeling for sure. Out on the road is the way forward. Followed by here if it stays there - https://www.gov.uk/report-untaxed-vehicle

We got chancers around here leaving cars in the limited parking with For Sale signs and a mobile number in the window. I always check them here - https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ Any transgression they get dobbed in. They stopped appearing shortly after I did that. Coincidence? Maybe but it cost me nothing.

Wasn't trying to be a smart ass Dex, but as I read Mups original opening post it just felt off to me.  Everything screamed Don't trust him.

Not at all Rox.  I'm too trusting at times and the bleeding obvious doesn't always stick out. 🥹
