Alex

I read earlier that he had died, along with his wife and their dog.   Police don't suspect foul play and his daughter has said perhaps it was carbon monoxide poisoning.  French Connection is the film I remember him for most.  Very sad they'd been together over 35 years

That's just what I just said to my friend as well, Alex.

No doubt we will hear in due course.  Very sad though.

RIP

Just read that post mortem showed no violence and they are waiting on toxicology reports. Logic says they all died in a single incident whatever that was.

Mystery isn't it.
Just heard on the news they have not found any gas leaks yet either.

Alex

The report I read said when they were found, their front door was open and one of their dogs was outside still alive, no idea if that's true or not.

klondike

They'd been dead in the house a while. Different locations and I think it was him they said appeared to have just collapsed where he stood. SFAIK carbon monoxide doesn't act that way but I'm no expert in that just odd bits that I've read.

Mups

Yes,  it says on the news it is thought they had been dead a few days.

If only dogs could talk.
The poor surviving dog outside is perhaps the only one who saw what happened.

They'll come up with something. Too high profile not to.

If it weren't for the dog, I'd go for him having a heart attack or something, and just dying, and her taking an OD to top herself.

But the dog has turned it into a Columbo mystery🤷🏻♂️

Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

It is all very sad... and a mystery..
Gene Hackman was a great actor.. Good looking man..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

They are saying now, that his wife died of a respiratory problem,  and he died of a heart problem and 'natural causes.'
Not heard a word about the poor dead dog?

It is said his wife died about a week before him,  so why on earth was no ambulance or medical help called?
Who would leave a dead body on the floor for a week?
I don't understand all this.

Mups, apparently he had dementia and may not have been aware of his wife being lying dead in the bathroom, or not registered it.

Sadly, I believe the dog was in a cage and so may not have been let out, and hence died in a sad and unfortunate manner.
