I try not to get too involved with Politics,  I have never really been interested in these discussions,  but even I don't like the sound of this at all.

Quote:

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un threatens to step up all deterrence measures, including nuclear capabilities.
According to intelligence reports, Kim Jong-un has sent thousands of soldiers to Moscow to fight in the war in Ukraine. For him, opposing the Americans is essential.
Indeed, for the North Korean leader, it's the United States, one of the countries sending the most economic and military aid to Kiev since the start of hostilities, that's increasing the risk of a new world war.

Why do we  have so many nutters running  countries?
Aren't there any powerful men in the world who are also decent and intelligent, and able to negotiate?

Vlad

I think he issues those threats on a weekly basis, a bit like all politicians, Trump and tariffs, Starmer on immigration, intryvanf ignore. 😉

Mups

I hope you're right, Vlad.
But it does worry me that someday some evil berk will actually go too far.

Vlad

It's the current crop of very young Americans controlled my Elon Musk who now rule the USA that we should be fearfully of.

Or perhaps some sensible women?
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Hmm

Truss, van de Leyen, Merkel or maybe Reeves, Abbot, or Rayner.

The problem with all governments seems to be they are comprised of politicians.

I do think women are probably not so eager to fight all the while.
It must be something in male hormones that makes them flex muscles and fight all the time.
Puts me in mind of privileged yobs with too much money to throw about.

Funny how these men want wars so much, but never go anywhere near the front line themselves.
They might not be so quick to declare war if they had to go and fight.

Thank goodness for Donald Trump, an anti war leader, let's hope he sticks to these views.  Just a thought, Trump is very tall isn't he? it appears men of small stature are often war mongers

Which of two options do you prefer?

1. Gaza, a peaceful area under the control of a powerful state which will protect, and always have protected honest people?

2. Gaza, an area under the control of terrorists who do nothing other than capturing innocent people and keeping them in intolerant conditions in an attempt to threaten and control a free neighbouring country?

Or option 3
Gaza returned to its rightful owners the Palestinians who will have the right to vote for whoever it wants?

I agree.  The noggers in the woodpile are the Hamas terrorists.  Having said that, I have read reports that the ordinary people of Gaza seem to like the terrorists.  Who knows?
Yes, I agree that terrorists, whoever they are and wherever they are, need to be removed permanently.

Or even the Israelis ?
If you want peace and stability move the Israel's out of the Middle East, which will make a lot of countries very happy.
I am sure Trump could find room for them in Greenland after he has invaded it.
