Good morning.   The end of the Radio saga is nigh.

They just brought my radio back, plugged it in,  and  . . . . .     Nothing!
He said he had previously managed to get 3 of the 4 stations I wanted,  but when he tried to show me at my house just now,  it would not even show one measly station.

I've had enough now.  Made my mind up its going back, and have just been on Amazon to look at a Philips like I used to have.     Not a good start to my day,  but in a way, I feel better having now made a decision.

Ah well, at least you tried your best Mups.  Hope your son understands and doesn't feel slighted.  Just unlucky.

For future reference, if you need any help with Bush appliances, Gregg Wallace would be happy to help.

Actually, I'm thinking of buying myself an electric jag.  ....

Poor signal then....

Not that this now affects Mups as the decision has been made, but other than getting an external aerial for the radio, one would have thought that plug-in signal boosters for DAB radio
usage would be available.

klondike

They'd need an aerial too. No point amplifying noise.

dextrous63

Aye, unless it could access something via home Wi-Fi🤷🏻♂️

My previous Philips one never had an outside arial,  and worked fine.

Have sent for another one now.  It should be here on Friday.  I will confess to my son when he gets home from work.
I have a feeling he won't be pleased,  but if 3 people couldn't tune it,  no point in keeping something I can't  use.   I just hope he gets his money back.

That's called a smart speaker not a signal booster....

And she will tell you what your weather is like..
She will play any song you request of her.
And the latest on Gregg Wallace..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

klondike

I just asked Alexa to talk dirty to me.

She said grime, mud, sludge several times and then asked if that was enough dirt. Better off sticking with the real Greg.

So I asked her what is coffee bean one hundred in Welsh. That worked.

Thanks, but I need something I can leave on for the dogs when I go out.
If it is all quiet when I've gone,  they can hear a pin drop, and will be yapping at every sound.
If I leave a radio on,  they relax, and also can't hear what is going on outside so much.
Gertie says she enjoys a nice story.
