All this Woke nonsense is putting me off a bit too.  I used to post a lot but not now. I know this place is not that easy to find but, It only takes one to find it, follow the threads as a guest, take the hump at something, and then report it.

It shows the gang to which they belong & their status within the gang.

Quote from: JBR on November 15, 2024, 11:07:30 AMI really must apologise for sidetracking the direction of this discussion.

I'm worried now that what I posted yesterday might result in a visit from the Thought Police accusing me of a 'Non-Crime Hate Incident'.
The real drawback of such accusations is that the police apparently don't have to explain exactly what I am being accused of.
It occurs to me that I should not join in any discussions which could become dangerous for the discussers.
I can still join in the games though, I suppose!
The offence occurs if anyone says the post was offensive to them.

Thank you, Daisi.

I can't be doing with all this so-called 'Woke'  stuff.

I was just trying to being attention to the miserable lives these poor baby monkeys had at the hands of human torturers.   Then somehow off-topic immigrants and police got dragged into it.

I'm pleased you did.

Also in the news a baby red panda died, I think in an Edinburgh zoo, after being frightened by fireworks.

Only the invited get to see much other than chat and general. Guests don't even get to see jokes. If you put anything that might be controversial into the appropriate sections it is only trusted members that get to see it. I started a thread on that subject a little while back. It does mean there is less chance of this place appearing in searches and a casual visitor won't see much but we got few newcomers before anyway.

If anybody does want posts deleting and it has gone past the window they can do that then ask. Starting this in chat probably wasn't wise as it was obvious what sort of replies were likely.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if more animal deaths occur because of fireworks than ever make the headlines.

When I was younger, I used to ride, and had an ageing pony.  He was a gentle, inoffensive old chap.
He was kept in a field with a few others,  next to Mum's house.
Each firework night it was always a worry because we'd been told there were  kids around trying to tie  fireworks to the  horses tails.    I'd heard the same about cats being caught for this reason too.
Luckily the animals I knew were all safe.

What's the matter with some people?  I will never understand why they feel the need to hurt other creatures.

Yes a baby red panda died thanks to fireworks. Poor wee soul had lost it's mother a few days beforehand too. :worried:

For the record, I am deeply offended by those who get offended.

Yes, I agree that it is unlikely that any of our regular members would complain to the 'authorities', but perhaps someone likely to be 'offended' could possibly make a complaint to the 'wrong people'.

Reading about these recent police 'investigations' and also what has happened to Tommy Robinson for simply speaking his mind, I find it both sad and a little worrying that such a thing could conceivably happen to any of us.
Importantly, all of this seems to have begun only after Labour and TwoTier took over as government.  Importantly, they were elected by only a relatively small number of people.  I'm sure that they will not remain in government beyond a single term, but I worry about what else they could do to this country in the meantime.

'Freedom of speech' seems to be becoming illegal.
'Freedom of thought' would come next!

Poor little mite.
It's about time this useless annual caper was controlled properly.

If you are worried delete what you are worried about or if past the time you can ask me to.

Thank you.  That could be very useful when we begin to see exactly who 'they' are looking for!

Not as members, but can't anyone see what we write?  Or is it impossible for anyone to read our words until they have registered and been accepted?
One disadvantage would be no new members!
