Men that don't listen!
You can almost see them turning some kind of mental switch off.

I think it a genetically inherited problem,  and scientists should be working on it, instead of wasting money on things like Spaceships.

That's a skill most men develop after a couple of years of marriage.

See?  See what I mean, ladies?

Klondy, did you hear some annoying (but irrelevant) droning noise in the background?

Not I.  It's completely automatic.  I don't even have to think about it.

Darwin could easily have explained how this survival based trait developed.

Gentlemen, I feel you are giving short shrift to the women.  When they start yacking on with themselves, it gives us men the perfect opportunity to sit back and think our own thoughts, solve problems, make plans etc; all without having to listen to any of the inexorable and inane drivel that the lady folk are wittering on about.

You mention Darwin, Klondy.  There is little doubt in my mind that he first forged his theory while his wife was chuntering on at length about god only knows what.  If it weren't for him having to fill the void of intellectual stimulation present at that moment, I doubt whether the concept of evolution would ever have been scribed by him.

You see what I mean, ladies?   The male of the species make light of a potentially serious matter.

I am not even sure they are aware of their light going out when in our company,   but females can see it a mile off.

I have given this a lot of thought over the years,  and come to the conclusion it is a wiring fault in the receptors.

Well that's it for me with eBay.

Amongst the buying options there used to be one for UK sellers only. That has vanished and any search is awash with stuff from China. If I'm prepared to wait a week or so for stuff I'll go straight to AliExpress and get it cheaper.

EBay....  Hmmm!!!  So, one googles for prices for something (eg a calculator, since Casio seems to enjoy changing its models every few years with a whole new menu structure, which means that I have to upgrade along with it so I can instruct my students how to use the bloody thing), and a cheap price pops up with the eBay image.  So, one naturally clicks on it, only to discover that that is not the case and the price advertised is for a completely different item, and that the one you want isn't cheaper at all.

Oddly it is back showing on my tablet. Not sure if it was a temporary glitch, something wrong with my laptop browser or imagined.
