Thankyou once again for your kind advice, folks, much appreciated.

The dentist gave me a whole list of what to do, what not to do, after the extraction,  and yes, he said about the salt water rinse.   Klondike is quite right about not to swallow it, too.

He said not to do it the same day as the removal, but start the next day with 1tsp to a cup of warm water.
Don't vigorously swill it about though,  or the blood clot will fall out and the site will start bleeding again.    That makes sense doesn't it.
Just gently keep the warm solution in your mouth for about 1 minute.  Do this 2 - 3 times a day.
He also said to avoid Aspirin as a painkiller as it will promote further bleeding.

There was lots more advice on the paper, too, and it was very helpful.

However,  today he cleaned it all up again and had a good poke about,  then said there was some infection,  so I'm glad I went back.
He has now given me some Penicillan, 3 x a day for 5 days, and wants to see me again in a fortnight.  So I will see how it goes.

He didn't charge me anything today, either, thank goodness - other than £9.50 for the 'private' prescription.

Wakey wakey     Is everone still in bed?

A beautiful sunny morning so far.  Washing machine on, and just having a cuppa before I give the pooches their brekkie.

I actually woke up cold during the night, and had to chuck a throw over the duvet.  Perhaps getting near time to think about putting the winter tog one on now.
Does everyone else have a summer one and a winter one?

klondike

I have a summer one all year round.

My first stage as it gets colder is to put an overblanket on between duvet and top sheet.
Next stage is to give the bed a blast on high #6 setting before getting in.
Then comes all night on low #1 setting with an occasional #2 setting overnight.
Declaring winter is adding a thick throw over the duvet.

I haven't got an electric blanket.
Thinking of asking Father Christmas for one this year perhaps.

The current limerick reminded me that I saw something odd in the street the other day and picked it up. I saw it was a rechargeable vape that had just been dumped or dropped and as one of my granddaughter vapes I kept it and checked it charged.

Then I looked up the price and it amazed me how cheap these things are.

All fruity flavours. They probably aim these things at children.

The overblanket ones are more expensive but for me they are a gamechanger as they keep the weight of the bedcovers way down. The highest setting will take the edge off the beclothes in the time it takes to undress. I wouldn't be able to stand more than the lowest setting overnight most nights.

Glad you got your teeth sorted, Mups.  I trust the meds have started to strut their stuff 😊

Sat in the hospital carpark waiting to go in for my first appointment of the month. Had to arrive an hour early just to get parked 😕
It's a big dose of iron through a drip today, not sure how long this will take then it's a 30 minute wait before I can leave.

Doctors seem to want even more of my bodily fluids. Blood test Monday and now they've asked me to deliver a urine sample. Hopefully that's the end of it

Thanks about halfway through, didn't realise I had to wait an hour before I could go home afterwards.

Note to self - always take a book or something to while away the hours!!

Hope the iron makes you feel better, within yourself at the very least!!

Got my phone Dex no worries, I have my game of solitaire on it. 👍🏻

When you get home and back onto WiFi that actually works 😉 I'd download a few more ridiculous free gaming apps if I were you.

Even if they only last 30mins before the ads drive you nuts or you the game itself makes you actually feel your brain cells dying, at least you've had a hand in how to waste your own time rather than get stressed out and pointlessly (and repeatedly) hopeful when you see a nurse/doctor heading your way, only to see them turn to do something else.

Raven

Home now thank goodness, and Himself's making me toast and orange juice. Last time I ate was around 5pm yesterday.
