Maybe but I can't see it is going to expand much it goes from room temperature to 70 and if you heat a bit of steel up to red heat there's no obvious visible change. Rail tracks did but that's from huge great lengths not something at most 3 foot long. Whatever the cause I won't be doing it again. If it busts I'll either get another one or ask #1 son (has to be #1 as I only have one) to weld it as he has the kit.

True.  Mind you, I've no idea what chemicals are in a washing tablet.  Maybe some soda which is acting as a paint stripper?

We have a small one, but rarely use it now.  Only if some of the family come for a meal, or the extractor panels get greasy!
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

Dishwashers use some pretty harsh detergents. It seems to be losing less bits now and it isn't all gone which is why I suspected it wasn't sticking to the coating - might even be PTFE although probably not.

I was sold on dishwashers back in the 70s. For one thing washing up was one of my chores...

Apart from that there was a bloke I worked with who was as tight as a duck's posteria and he had one. I thought well if he bought one they must be worth it. Get more crocks and cutlery and only have it on when it fills so running it is cheap.

Plus I'd just moved into a different IT job and was earning close to triple my previous decent salary and that was that.

My dishwasher is as good as new.. Very seldom use it.. I don't mind standing at the sink washing up.. I see people passing by...
I do put it on a wash occasionally .. just to keep her bits and pieces working..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

I know the feeling 😬😬

I don't have a dish washer in my place but Dunc has one. I only use it if we have friends over for dinner. Otherwise I just do the dishes at the sink, no need to waste water and electric on a few things.

Got to pop back to the dentist this afternoon.   The gum is healing well, but my right cheek is swollen and hurts.  Odd, isn't it.
Think I may need some antibiotics.

All this has been a good diet if nothing else.  Lost 8 lbs now!  Couldn't believe it when I stood on the scales this morning.

Sunshine and showers here,  and noticeably cooler.    Shall be getting me liberty bodice out at this rate.

Mups, I don't know what your dentist advised but mine told me after a couple of extractions to rinse out my mouth every couple of hours with warm salt water. I never had any afterwards problems. Salt healed my mouth very quickly.

Salt water works for me too Mups, try it with warm water.

I remember being told to use salt water too. Just to be clear it's rinse and spit not rinse and swallow. It must have worked as I'm still alive.
