Quote from: Mups on September 30, 2025, 09:38:37 AMExcellent advice Scrumps.  Thankyou.

Incidentally,  that bloke with the old wreck parked here, never did get the scrap yard to come,  so I suspect  he was lying to me from the beginning.    DVLA had it taken away in the end.

What an idiot.  One blooming phone call is all it'd have taken.

 - and a liar too,  I suspect.

Raven

Wonder if DVLA will send him a bill.  :hmm:

Glad it's all sorted now, Mups.

Raven

Had the Edinburgh Hospital on the phone, they want me in on the 10th of October. Not for the op but for more scans and to have a talk with the Surgeon about what's to happen.
Such a long drive but we will stay at my house in Perth for the duration.
Getting even more nervous now.  :worried:

All the very best to you Raven.. You will be fine sweetheart.. Think positive thoughts..
I suppose that is easy for another to say when it is not them going through the problems..
  Chin up... xxx

Same from me too, Raven.

I know its easy for me to say 'Try not to worry'   but we would probably all be the same.

Make a list as questions come to you,  and get it all your fears out in the open when you talk to the Surgeon.   Hopefully he will be able to put your mind at rest a little more.

We'll all be thinking of you,  take care.
Mups xx

Wow.  I have just had the first compliment for about 50 years.

A young man came this morning to fix a small grab rail in my show for me.
He was very talkative.  I'm bad enough,  but he made me see quiet!

So we were chatting away while he was working,  and when he eventually finished and left,  he put his hand out to shake hands with me and said it had been a pleasure working here,  how ' very bright'  I was,  (some of you men won't agree with that  ),  and how much he had enjoyed our chat!

Quite unusual for a workmen I thought.  He seeemed perfectly  genuine though.
Quite different to some lazy slobs who just want to drink tea all day.

Vlad

Had another three viewers around at Vlad Villa, hopefully now the last.  We have three offers so far  above the sale price, estate agents are saying it will go to 'last and final' offers. One family has viewed twice and knows that there have already been offers so she said she will be putting in an offer this afternoon...

I wonder if they are all expecting increased stamp duty to be announced in the budget and are hoping to get it done and dusted before the wallet massage.

Did you know,  Vlad is inviting us all to a knees-up at his new place soon as he's settled in.
Isn't that right, Vladsy  . . .

It could be a factor I suppose but there has been a lot of potential buyers viewing. I thought that they were going to do away with that and replace it with a property tax?

A bidding war would be beneficial to the Vlad wallet 😀

I wish you all the very best..

As you are soon to be rich beyond your wildest dreams Vlad, can I put you down for 40p for the whip-round we're having to buy some wonky fruit for Raven while she recuperates in hospital?  The rest of us can only afford 25p each.
