Sitting here...waiting for the next set of house viewers...it's tedious...but necessary.

You'll be fine.   Just sit down and relax, and when they arrive,  just smile a welcome  (put your teeth in first),  make sure your trousers are done up,  you don't pass wind.   And all will be fine.

I don't know what you'd do without me at times.

I know ..you are a treasure, reminding me to zip up my fly and to be careful when I do it.

Well, something must have caught her attention to have noticed it.

The old adage "It pays to advertise" springs to mind.

The Royal Mail ninja strikes again, Failed delivery There was no answer. I should have said blind Royal Mail ninja as there is a 3 foot high parcel box next to the door - his hood must have slipped. It certainly hid him from both my video doorbell and CCTV both of which I just checked.

Do you still have your Blink doorbell Klondy ?   My lad put a camera up for me, aimed at the dinghy boy house   but I can't see anything when I click on it, it's too bloody dark !

Yes I do have it. If you don't pay for their cloud I  think they deliberately make it too slow to talk to any of the delivery blokes who've gone before you get the ring.

I've started playing with Home Assistant which unfortunately is geeky as hell and it's possible to add Blink doorbells to that. I was going to use it for controlling my inverter  but took an easier route for that. I am currently attempting to set something up to notify my kids if I'm immobile in the house. My mother spent nearly a day on the kitchen floor before the neighbours realised the tapping wasn't DIY. I do try to make sure I've always got my mobile with me but fail on that regularly. I might be able to make a call via my watch but haven't tried that yet and anyway there is always the chance I may not be able to if I need to.

That project is close now as I'll use AI to write the code for me once all the sensors are set up - I really CBA to learn yet another programming language. The Blink will come next.

Last night I was able to sit and watch telly in my sitting room for the first time since end of July, it's been quite a marathon.   :upvote:

All sounds complicated Klondy

It is and it isn't. I'm hoping to get it set up without having to do much myself as a lot of the work such as handling the sensors once they have been installed and added both of which are easy enough  is inbuilt. There are a lot of functions that others have produced that can be added without too much effort such as messaging via WhatsApp which all my children use already.

The hard work or at least the bit I'm not keen on learning how to do from scratch is writing all the scripting to automate deciding a message is needed and sending it. Fortunately AI engines have got pretty good at coding and I'll be asking one to kindly do the work for me. Then doubtless asking why it cocked it up and please try again.
