I watched one last night about a woman complaining to her neighbour about how, when he went to work in the morning, the noise from his car disturbed her.  Quite apart from the obvious thing that even if it was, there was nothing he could do about it anyway, the actual situation was that his car was electric and therefore didn't make any noise.  Would she have it?  Nooooo.  Of course not.

The other funny ones are when people argue with a motorist who has done nothing wrong, and then (when getting nowhere with their fallacious point) proceed to hit the bonnet and lie down saying that he has driven into them and call the police.  When the police turn up, much mirth is had when the driver shows them the recording from his front facing dashcam.  🤣🤣🤣
Karen's eh? 😀😀😀 we live and learn I will tell daughter. 😀 your comment about public service had me thinking about my family, daughter with the PTS, granddaughter trainee para medic, wife ex nurse and I did my bit, the family military wise goes as far back as the Crimean War where a great great etc grandfather also a Sgt Major picked up a VC at Inkerman during the Crimean War...we are easily led 😀

Good afternoon good people.

I have done bugger all today, except unpack my Ocado shopping.
They are asking us to book our Christmas deliveries  already!

klondike

Can't blame them - they need to know how much gold myrrh and frankincense to order from their wholesalers.

Costco's doing Xmas Hampers, only £999:98 ...might just give that a miss year, it was the crappy Scottish shortbread that I didn't like.

I just phoned the vet to ask about Gertie's blood tests tomorrow morning.   I wish I hadn't.

Good job I was sitting down,  because they quoted me £207. 00 for blood tests!!!!
These are tests they will analyse themselves too,  so not got to pay an outisde Lab.  to do it.

No wonder so many dogs are getting handed in to rescues, or getting dumped.
Veterinary prices are shocking these days.

That's awful, Vlad.   What a rip off.

The trouble is that Vet's have no governing body that controls what they charge,  so different vets can charge different prices for exactly the same service.
I think their profit mark up  is far too much.

They wanted nearly £200 per month   for Liffeys meds she will have to have forever,  but I can now get them for about £115.   Still a lot I know,  but still nearly half what the vets wanted.
This is the main pet Pharmacy I use for her prescriptions as they are trustworthy.

Apart from my health it's one of the reasons I didn't get another dog after Dageus, I simply can't afford to keep throwing money at them. It's bloody disgusting what they charge. I was £500 to have Dageus sent over the Rainbow Bridge, never mind the run up to it.

Never mind.  You'll know for the future.
We use Amazon a lot, to the extent that we can buy things with free delivery.  Worth a thought.

i must admit it did include the vet fees, but tge medication cost was still higher than the online, thanks for the link though The vets don't tell you that you can get the same drugs on line cheaper.

Vlad,  don't forget charges will also depend on whether they are prescription drugs you need.
No reputable place will  supply prescription drugs without a veterinary prescription,  and your vet will charge extra  for the prescription.

I read something a few days ago about online suppliers, including third party ones that Amazon has on it, having unchecked/unsafe animal medicines which come from (eg) China.  It may well be that the £19 one was highly dodgy.

Yes, I replied in that thread too, Dex.
Sometimes people look only at prices, and not who the seller is.
Same can happen in human meds bought online too.  Can be very dangerous.
My pharmacies have their address, phone numbers so I can ring them up and ask anything (they are English too)! and quite a strict code we have to abide by to purchase.   The company is also known to my vet.

Was it a thread?  Sorry!  In my ailing mind (still got a cough and feeling clogged up btw🥹) I thought it was a news article which I'd happened across by accident.

Anyway, bottom line is that one gets what one pays for and where pets are concerned I'd rather try to be safer than, er, sorrier.

Thanks for that Mups point taken.
