Quote from: klondike on September 23, 2025, 11:37:47 PMIt's been a while since I was involved and don't recall the details but markets vary by area and time anyway so its probably best to let the agents do their job znd earn their fee.

That said I fo recall no chain being a big advantage as there is so much less chance of sales falling through.
Thats what I was thinking..we are going to sit back and let agents do their stuff.

I know its an upheaval Vlad,  but you are not on your own doing this.   At least you have your family to help with all the decisions.

It sounds nice and hopeful, with plenty of interest shown,  so it will be done and dusted before you know it.   You will be all settled in your new home for Christmas.
Fingers crossed for you.

I have been out of touch for a couple of weeks now, but looking back I see you have been trying to sell your house, Vlad.  You did appear to have had an offer in excess of the asking price, but did that fall through?
If there is no chain, that should be a big incentive for a buyer then.
Good luck.

Hi JB, no we had a number of viewings last Saturday and Yesterday, the agents rang me saying that they had an offer on the property from a buy to let buyer which they are looking into and also waiting for any other offers  from possible interested parties. But you are right about the no chain everything should go through relatively quickly

On another matter- I'm still feeling rough.

That aside, I was reflecting about the Free World's medical guru, a certain Mr D Trump and in particular his thoughts about curing Covid through drinking bottles of bleach.

It occurred to me that fairy washing liquid is good for dissolving/removing fat from dishes.  I will therefore start taking a glass of it each morning as part of my fat reducing diet.  I'm sure the Don would approve.

And if I swallowed a mouthful of Cif for 4weeks... Would I 'scrub up' better.. !!!

I have often thought about that ...kitchen cleaners that kill 99% of all known germs....mmmm? So theoretically I could spray myself with it and all my medical conditions would disappear?
Obviously if it didn't work I would at least look shiny and smell nice.

In my view 99% of all germs are not harmful to humans in any way.  It's the 1% we should be worried about.

There are some crazy people out there..my daughter who works on the NHS patient transport service told me me today that one of her crews was transporting two patients to QE hospital and travelling down a one way street. Then a car came the opposite way towards them with lights flashing and horn blaring, the crew thinking that there was a medical emergency stopped got out of the cab and went to the car.
The found a woman with two young kids in the back she started screaming that they were blocking her from getting her kids to school and they were going to be late..the crew tried to tell that she was driving the wrong way down a one way street, there was lots of shouting from her then she ran to the ambulance removed the keys and before she could be stopped jumped in her vehicle and reversed away.
Crew took photos called the police, she was found, arrested for travelling down a one way street, theft of NHS property and wilfully impeding an emergency vehicle involving reckless obstruction....
She is going to be late getting her kids to school soon I suspect.

Solicitors have no conception of quickly or probably the desire to try it out. I can go to a garage in the morning and drive a car out that evening (sometimes anyway) but houses take months. Next door sold in 5 days but I'm not convinced that anybody will be moving in this year.

My mates took five months, my daughters is hoping to complete on or about ( I suspect about) the 3rd Oct , I would like to to give her a couple of weeks to sort the new home out before we move, so hopefully Mrs Vlad and I fingers crossed out of here by the end of October

I believe such breed of women as your daughter (thank her for her public service for me please, you know my feelings about people who, like you, try to help us all😊👍) described are referred to as Karen's.  There are plenty awash on YouTube.

I watched one last night about a woman complaining to her neighbour about how, when he went to work in the morning, the noise from his car disturbed her.  Quite apart from the obvious thing that even if it was, there was nothing he could do about it anyway, the actual situation was that his car was electric and therefore didn't make any noise.  Would she have it?  Nooooo.  Of course not.

The other funny ones are when people argue with a motorist who has done nothing wrong, and then (when getting nowhere with their fallacious point) proceed to hit the bonnet and lie down saying that he has driven into them and call the police.  When the police turn up, much mirth is had when the driver shows them the recording from his front facing dashcam.  🤣🤣🤣
