GrannyMac

It was nice here yesterday, rainy this morning.  My sister in law is arriving from Scotland later, with her granddaughter, who will stay with my daughter and granddaughter.  The girls (early teens) get on really well.  We'll all meet up during the week, and I think some treats will be on the agenda!  I might not be here much.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

It's overcast but quite warm here today.
Not sure what I am going to do yet,  probably a mixture of dog clipping and gardening.

Just had some scrambled eggs on toast with grated cheese.   Don't I lead an exciting life.

Busy day for me, but I did get to sit out in the garden for a while.   My lad fitted a security camera for me it's very easy to 'operate'

The grand-dogs were here last night, my lad collected them about midnight as they'd decided not to stay over in Yorkshire.  Having them here was great, Dave the older dog was growling about 11pm so I got up to see what he was doing.  He was keeping an eye on the road from the front bedroom window, where I'd put a chair in the bay.  There was something going on at the dinghy boy house and Dave was not pleased so he started barking - loudly.  I think one of them was on his phone outside, but Detective Dave had spotted him

I pet all the dogs that pass my gate on their way to the park.. If I am outside sitting on my bench..
They get excited when they reach my gate.. and I am there..
No.. I don't sit on the bench all day..
I have a park nearby and many dog walkers pass by.. Even going to the bins I see someone..
Also there is a church just up the road and the church goers stop to chat if they see me..
A little school opposite .. the staff sneak outside to sit on a wall and have a ciggie..
Busy life here... Except when a big sports match is being shown on tv.. Everything is quiet..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Off to my Monday exercise class for old fogeys this morning.

Perhaps a toasted sarnie in Tesco's cafe on the way home.

Where's everyone gone?         I'm sitting here all on my own, and I'm scared of bogey-men.

Alex

I've got a plasterer here at the moment a nice lad, so I gave him toast with his coffee.   It's a bit boring being here all day so I've been on Temu and ordered some more crap

Weather is a bit dismal here, grey skies and plenty of rain overnight.

I agree.  It has become rather quiet here lately.

I'm also wondering what has happened to Cassandra.  I found his posts interesting and well-written, but I haven't seen anything from him for a long time now.  Does anyone know?

I last 'spoke' to Cass in May when he was fine, he'd had a trip back to Blighty and he also had some exciting news so I hope he'll be back on here sometime..

Here's a link to his profile - https://letschat.club/index.php?action=profile;u=12

It shows that the account was used July 8 but he last made a post back in February. Without being too gloomy it is possible that he is ill or worse and a relative was looking over a laptop, phone or tablet. Alternately he didn't see anything that interested him enough to make a post.

News lately seems to be all doom and gloom and I'm guessing most, like me, don't really want to chat about the latest national and international disasters and we just get by on moaning about stuff we've already done to death and with nothing changing for the better they just peter out too.

My news for the day is that I trimmed back the olive tree I have out front. The leaf sucker I bought not that long ago from Lidl  expired before I'd squirrelled all the fruits of my toil away in a black bag.  That was filled the hard way and is now hidden away at the bottom of my landfill bin. I'm too tight to pay extra for a garden waste bin which would only be filled at most a couple of times a year. I can't find the Lidl receipt and there is no longer a search function for receipts in the Lidl app. The sucker will be joining the leaves it didn't pick up once I'm sure there will be room and I've broken it up small enough.

JBR

Yes, it could be bad news, though of course I hope not.
Of course I agree that news here generally includes nothing particularly exciting and certainly not encouraging.  We are, I think, entering a rather depressing period in the history of our country and we can only hope for the best.
Perhaps he'll be back on here when there is something of sufficient interest.

And my good news for the day. I scanned through my Lidl digital receipts looking at bigger than usual ones and found the one for thr leaf sucker. October last year. Just took it back and had the refund.
