Still waiting for that damned delivery.

Probably a nice strong young man but I don't find that thought as exciting as Scrumpy did waiting yesterday.

I got on their chat. It seems this is all part of some strange process they go through for heavy items. They go to Aberdeen from Northampton going by the tracking and get delivered from there. I have no idea why. I told them on chat that I'd not be waiting in tomorrow. If it arrived when I'm in OK if not they can issue a refund instead and I'll get one elsewhere. I could go and collect one from any number of places at a similar price but it is heavy and probably not easy to handle which is why I went for delivery. Amazingly I wasn't rude on the chat as it isn't the the poor sod on the chatline's fault but I was seathing otherwise I'd just have waited in again.

Quote from: Scrumpy on June 11, 2025, 11:50:14 AMMy new neighbours  have just gutted out the house and have moved in.. Couple of doors away..
They are a young family with two small children..
Been to the Co-op.. Breaking in new trainer (shoes)..
Completed delivery from Tesco.. I chose Tesco because I don't struggle to add to order..
I am doing a family gathering end of month..
I have finished organizing the games.. for grown-ups.. I love doing that..
My family play in teams.. No (partners) in any team..

Funnily enough,  I chose Tesco this week too.
The only thing I don't like about their deliveries, is they don't bring it in bags like Ocado do.
I find it a nuisance when they just dump it all loose,  tins, packets, frozen etc  all over the table and worktop,  nothing bagged up at all.
My friend has Sainsbury's deliveries, and she said they don't bag it either.

Heavy rain and thunder forecast here tomorrow and Friday.
A yellow weather warning out.
Glad I got my grass cut yesterday.

If bothers you put those bigger bags on the table and tell them to put your shopping into those.

If they delivered in bags I imagine that by law they'd have to charge for each one

I have Sainsbury's, they bring the crates to the door, I put the unbagged items into my own bags, then put it away.  Tesco do the same when my daughter has a delivery.  I didn't know the delivery drivers bring the shopping into the house. I'll remember that if I get to a stage where I can no longer do it.

You're right, Klondike,  Ocado do charge 10p for each bag,  but you can give them back to the driver who comes the following week,  and they refund you the 10p per bag and knock it off the bill.

A beautiful morning - so far.
The only down-side is I've got a dentist appointment at 12 0/clock.

Just waiting for my Tesco order to come.
