It's from Amazon so I imagine I'll just get a refund and have to reorder. Annoying but not the end of the world.

It takes a special skill to lose something that big. They clearly weren't up to managing to crush it.

A busy day today,  that is why I haven't popped in all day.

I had an appointment with the Audiologist this morning because he took my hearing aid away for a service 3 weeks ago and lent me one to use in the meantime.
Only thing is,  the borrowed one was just as bad as my own one,  which led me to believe that is too much of a coincidence if two of them don't work,  so it must be my hearing changed.
Turned out I was right.  He did another in-depth hearing test today, and the bad ear has got even worse.  He seemed concerned about how much it had deteriorated so quickly,  so has written to my GP asking him to refer me 'Urgently'   to ENT.
Something else to worry about!

Then this afternoon I had quite a long drive  (for me anyway),  over to my Chiropractor for her to have a nice treatment.

Blinkin'  falling apart I am.  :worried:

Hope everyone else had a better day.

I'm probably off-track, but do you syringe your ears?  It could be a build-up of wax, though of course the audiologist should have checked for that.

Yes, he did check for wax, JBR.  and he checked the pressure too.
Both were OK, but thanks anyway.

I am just a bit worried about the length of time I might have to wait for an NHS appt. these days,  and whether in the meantime,  my hearing might deteriorate further.    :hmm:

Oh well,  I'm off to bed now,  I've had enough for one day.   Night night all.

Good morning all, on this bright but chilly morning.
My heating actually came on early this morning for half an hour!

A day of pottering after a rather busy one yesterday.  I'm rather good at pottering.

I'd turned my heating off but put it back on last night and it fired up this morning too. Back off again now. Wonder if the rumoured resurrection of winter fuel allowance will be given a try to see if it restores the Labour vote share. It won't from me. Maybe they''ll think about all the other crap tax changes they've put in place that are crashing the economy. Probably not or at least until they boot out Rachael from Complaints.

I tend to turn the thermostat right down instead of turning it off altogether.

Mine is a Vailant combi-boiler,  so if I did turn it off completely,  would my hot water go off too?

Alex

Can we still get immersion heaters ?  I only have my boiler on to heat the water now.

With my previous system I used to switch it to use just the overnight setting which was a mechanical switch. My new all singing and dancing multiple slots each at any chosen temperature makes it harder to mess with so I just set it to off (a switch). One advantage is I can notch it up or down until it gets to the next time slot.

Yes,  but with a combi,  if I turned it off would I have no hot water too?

I don't turn the boiler off. The thermostat only controls the heating.

One thing I did find necessary was to turn on the option to keep the hot water section in the boiler hot. Saves running off a couple of gallons just to get some hot water or waiting ages for the shower to run warm. When the heating is on that makes that option unnecessary but may save a smigeon overnight. It does have an "intelligent" selection which is suppose to build a picture of when you use hot water but it just turns itself off again and I'm not going to spend ages chasing the reason down which will probably just be a bug anyway,

Mups

Thanks.   Why is life so complicated . .

Raven

Chiropractor at 9.30am it's been 8 weeks since I was there, so expecting a good going over and a lecture on leaving it so long. My shoulder is tight and so is one of my hip joints, goodness knows what else he going to find.
Taking my wee latte flask with me as I'm heading to my beach bench after for a wee while. Then Tesco before I head home.
