Pretty much although if you forego baths which I have for many years then electric showers and those expensive electric hot taps would work too.

Plus of course oil or gas tanks can run boilers. Not sure if oil can run a combi but bottled gas will as we had one in a static carravan.

Quote from: Raven on May 08, 2025, 08:44:23 AMChiropractor at 9.30am it's been 8 weeks since I was there, so expecting a good going over and a lecture on leaving it so long. My shoulder is tight and so is one of my hip joints, goodness knows what else he going to find.
Taking my wee latte flask with me as I'm heading to my beach bench after for a wee while. Then Tesco before I head home.
Raven,  do you undress for your treatment?

I tried a different chiropractor a few months ago,  not because I am unhappy with my old one, but simply because it is only round the corner instead of a 40 min drive each way.

I was really surprised because he started work on me with all my clothes on. My usual lady would never do that.  She said it is how they are trained now,  not to remove clothing.

With my usual lady (who I've been with for about 25 years)  I just keep my underwear on,  nothing else.
She feels along every notch of the spinal bones and can feel what is out of alignment.
She does neck, back, hips, legs,  and all my fingers and toes.
While she is working she also checks for any odd looking moles, or anything else on your skin.

So what I want to know is,  how on earth can these 'modern day' ones do half of that if you're fully dressed?
They certainly can't check your skin.

I use a McTimonay trained Chiropractor, not an ordinary one,  by the way.  They are much more gentle.

I've just seen that the Vatican's chimney smoke was black yesterday,  so they were unable to elect a new Pope.
I believe they are voting again today?   :hmm:

My guy is also a Timonay trained one, down to underwear for the examination. Didn't go to bad today just needed to loosen off my left hip and that was a bit ouchy still it's done now and back in my usual 6 weeks.

I read something about them installing it only the other day. Must have been a secondhand one. I expect they'll get a sweep in to clean it than all will be OK.

My son isn't on mains gas, and has oil fired heating, not a combi.  A great big hot water tank, in a large cupboard, in the main bathroom.  We have a combi, and I have airing cupboard envy! I really miss a warm airing cupboard.  🫤

Another downside of a combi is the time it takes to get hot water, thank goidnes we had our shower changed to electric.

I inherited this house and had it completely refitted. I specified a small rad in the cupboard that used to house the hot water tank.

My boiler is a condensing boiler, I have an electric shower - or I will have on Monday   I have the boiler on for water to wash dishes etc....

Just been watering all my plants and I was surprised how hot it is after yesterday.

By the way,  I forgot this . . .

A man is looking at a photograph of someone. His friend asks who it is. The man replies, "Brothers and sisters, I have none. But that man's father is my father's son."
Who was in the photograph?

Both my current and previous combis have an option to keep the water section in the boiler warm. I did check what it was costing and although. I can't recall the exact amount it wasn't huge and probably less than the cost of water you have to run off before it gets warm without it on. The shower downstairs is electric though.
