Drizzly day forecast here again. There was some rain overnight - 2.8mm according to my weather station.

Hospital visit today at 4. It's the consultant to see what sort of job he did on my finger (a good one imo although it seems to be taking a while for the swelling to go away). Dare I risk walking again? Showers are no big deal but it's a damned long way if the showers turn to rain.


I'd advise everybody take a close look at their feet. I swear I can see skin starting to grow between my toes.

Scrumpy,  may I ask how old your boiler is please?
It's just that mine (a Vaillant) is now 17 years old, and I worry about how much longer it might last.

Mine is due for its service early December.  I think he charged me about  £85 last year.

Hi Mups.. she is about 15 years old.. She is nothing posh.. She stands in the corner of the kitchen.. 
Not wall mounted..
I am insured for any problems and a yearly service.. HOMESERVE..
The guy that came yesterday said the boiler was incredibly (clean).. and showed no signs of any problems.. 
Mups... Stop worrying sweetheart..  Your boiler should be fine.. 
If anything went wrong with my boiler I would have a new one installed and pay monthly for it.. 
I have just paid 4,000 on my roof so I'm having to watch my savings..
We are at an age were we take money out but seldom put money in...

Took a sweatshirt back to Lidl. My usual size but way too large across the shoulders. Got the next size down. That doesn't fit either tight on bum but still too wide across the shoulders. Either they got the sizing wrong or whoever lives in whatever godforsaken place they had it made is about a foot wider at the shoulders than the backside.

It drizzled on the way back. Might chance just taking it straight back again as it looks clear. Mind you it did the first time.

It's not easy, is it, and my vets bills have been horrendous as Liffey has an ongoing health problem.
We'll have to find a nice pair of sugar-daddy's.

To be a good deal older than us he'd have to be about 100. 
Hmmm . . .  perhaps I'd best  give this a bit more thought.
