I'm celebrating the fact that today is the first day since the solstice and daylight is a whole 2 seconds longer than yesterday - make the most of them!

I'm the opposite, I like the day after the summer solstice as I don't like the long summer days.

Although I have made my own reasonably effective blackout blind, I think that this year I'll invest in a Blocblind Alexa-controlled motorised blackout blind.

I don't need total darkness as there a few LED indicator lights on some of the smart devices, I want there to be no bright sunlight floodlighting the room at 04:30 in the morning.

Also I need to be able to see when one of the cameras triggers.

It's not a bad day here and all the animal jobs are done so it's an early lunch and we're off for an afternoon trek with the Clydes, then home to a roast beef dinner.
