True.  As well as the diy sponge kit, I've got some o'rings to try out as well.

Our main issue is actually getting my MiL from her flat to the church, to the crem, to the restaurant/wake, to home.

We've decided that Uber will be our friend today as our car is too small and the walk from the wake home is only about 10 mins, plus the weather looks ok.

Pretty cold here. I find that can cause some issues in the sponge/o ring area unless fleet of foot in the homeward direction. Dog walkers are a menace even in the woods on such days.

I had a bit of an unpleasant experience this afternoon, and I can't stop thinking about it.

There is a nasty sharp bend outside my house,  several accidents have happened there, including my own car being written off by some drink/drugs moron out of control car smashing up my front driveway.

However, today I was coming out of my drive just as a big van came round the bend in the middle of the road, driving too fast.
It was one of those situations where if I dithered, he likely would have smashed into me,  so I put my foot down and got out the way quick.

This bloke didn't like that, and drove over to my side of the road and tried to ram me!
I stopped and looked at him,  and he looked so angry and aggressive, and a bit like a Diddy.  He started mouthing off at me.

I then did something I have never done in my life before -  I stuck 2 fingers up to him,  squeezed past him, and went on my way.    Was that awful?
I don't know what made me do it,   I have never done anything like that  before in my life.

I know it probably sounds silly,  but he looked so intimidating,  I am worried now because he knows where I live.
Will he come back and smash my windscreen tonight,  or worse?   I'm serious. :hmm:

Nope, he'll not be back Mups.  Heat of the moment flash point.

hoping that the freeze which should have been delivered yesterday actually turns up.
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

I think the approved Highway Code hand signal for such moments is just using the middle finger. At least that's the one I use most

Maybe you were too engaged in reminiscing about paper chains of yesteryear to bother with such lateral mental processes😉

klondike

I think it's maybe  because I knew it was cold up north.

About time you toughened up...

I put the finger up to another driver once.... My daughter who was with me told me it was meant to be the middle finger not the index finger..  :nooo:
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Going clay shooting again with son as the river is still in flood and like soup so fishing seems pointless. Should be fun as it's windy which makes their flights very unpredictable.

Alex

I've used two fingers to drivers too, I think they're shocked that a little old lay could do such a thing

Never underestimate an old gal...

I remember reading about the old lady pensioner who hit a (bank robber)!! with her walking stick.. or hand bag... as he came out of the bank.. It made headlines and pics were shown of the event..
He didn't retaliate.. Wouldn't dare.. :nooo:
It was in this country..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..
