I've just had a visit from a nice TALL fireman and he brought his fire engine too    He replaced a smoke alarm for me, left a leaflet on staying safe

They did mine for me last year, too.
Is yours a 10 yr guarantee, too?

Lazy morning today, lovely massage this pm. Cold day.
Its not how old you are, but how you are old. 💖

They were round these parts a year or so back. Didn't come here though. I reckon they have a list of impressionable ladies.

You may be right !
I rang them because the alarm stopped working and if I bought one, I thought the holes for the base might not be in the same place.  He said nowadays they're all the same and you can't replace a battery.

It is so cold up where you are..

Are you having visitors for Christmas... ?
Or just a Turkey.. I thought i would get that in before Dextrous did..
Hi Scrumpy
All being well my sister-in-law will be with me over Christmas and the New Year - nice to have someone to talk to. Thinking about it, lockdown year was the only time in my life when I woke alone on Christmas Day. When Susan and I broke up, I spent Christmas with friends, then I met Veronica, even in the RAF I was in a billet with others.
Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

We'll be here Mike  !

p.s. My old banger passed the MOT, just a couple of  ' advisories'  😁

Morning all, on this bright sunny Friday.   Still chilly, but not quite as cold as it has been.

I've had a few things to sort out this morning,  and now I've got to go and collect my prescription next.  My pharmacy sends me a text when its ready.
Then I'd like to get the last of my Tulip bulbs planted before its too late.

Toast for brekkie,  soup for lunch, and fish pie for tea tonight.

*Good news about the MOT, Alex.  It's always a relief when that's done, isn't it.

The multiple holes in my ceiling say he's wrong on that. They may be going forward but the most certainly weren't and the last lot I changed weren't.

I think he meant nowadays they're all non replaceable batteries, at least the ones Cheshire Fire Brigade have are.

Ah - I thought it was the holes. Don't know for sure about the batteries but mine are non replaceable now. Just recently changed some in a CO alarm that has 2 years life according to the label.

Morning, Dry so far today and I've been doing a wee tidy up in the garden, hopefully that will be it over till next Spring. Out with the Clydes this afternoon and out for dinner with friends tonight. Busy day lined up.

Morning all.     One of those grey, dismal days again,  but very much milder.
I've got an awful back ache.   Going to the Chiropractor on Tuesday.

Just finishing some paperwork,  then groom the pooches,  and then I still haven't got the last of my Tulip bulbs in!      I've also got some Carnivorous plant seeds to experiment with,  never grown them from seed before,  so looking forward to that.

I am being lazy with dinner today, and have got one of those M & S big Yorkshire puds with all the dinner inside.

No one seems to use this thread lately,  but I will write a bit more anyway.
Another one of those horrid grey, drizzly days.   Oh for some sunshine and blue sky.

I had to go to the Vet's at 9.30,  only to drop a urine sample in from Liffey.
Then I rushed into Tesco for a couple of things I can't get elsewhere,  but had to be out and get home again by 10.30 because my Ocado order was coming.

So all a bit of a rush this morning, and I am now enjoying my second cup of tea before I finish packing the rest of my order away.
Then it will be a bit of Quiche for lunch,  along with a Latte, before I hoover round and tidy up as the Gas man is coming tomorrow to fit two new bits in my boiler.  One is an electrode, and the other is something like a heat plate  (I think)?

Hope everyone has a good day.

Alex

I'm going to my grandson's nativity play this afternoon, he will be 5 end of this month and this is his first 'role'
