Hope you enjoyed your Grandson's play, Alex.

I'm fed up already today.

It's my birthday today,  and I have got an Optician's appointment in a mo,  then a GP appt. this afternoon,  and I've just got notification my House Insurance is going up by £154 in January  - and I've never even made a claim!!    What a damn rip off these companies are.
Happy bloomin'  birthday gal.

Alex

Happy birthday Mups, I wanted to say don't go out today it's Friday 13th  ! but notice you've appointments good luck with those.
Nativity play was lovely he played a wise man, dressed up in a purple robe !   After taking their bows, they walked in line off the stage and he saw I wasn't in my seat next to his Mum, he shouted out " where's my Nana ? "  (I'd stood up to take a photo,) it was so funny !

Mups

Thanks for the good wishes,  Alex.    I'll save you some cake.

It's going to be one of those days, I can tell.

The gas man came yesterday and put a couple of new parts in the boiler, and gave it a service.
Today I woke up to a cold house, and no hot water,  with  'Fault 23'  showing on the boiler screen.
It's something to do with the water in it I think.   All pressure gone,  pressure guage down below zero.

Seriously pee'd off.    More expense coming.

The water pressure in our boiler drops sometimes, there should be a couple of wee taps on the bottom of the boiler (you won't see them) feel for them, just turn them both and they will open and water will come in. Only fill it to just over a quarter full on the dial then close the taps again. It should work then, that's how we sort it.

Thankyou Raven,  you are right,  and luckily I already had instructions written down about the pressure taps from when they played up some time ago.
When I phoned them the chap, he also told me to put the pressure back, and see if that got it going again,  so I did.

Dare I say . .  so far, so good.   I now have hot water and a warm house again.   I just hope its not back to square one by tomorrow morning, else I shall have his guts for garters.

If it drops down to zero again, it's sometimes the pressure release valve which has failed.  Not a huge job, and he might have opened it while servicing it and it's got a bit of crud in it, so can't close fully.

I'll see how it goes, thanks Dex.

At the moment I am not convinced the hot water is alright now.   It seems scalding hot one minute, and not the next.
I will run it over the weekend and keep an eye on it.
