I'm fortunate that we never watch adverts.  They are simply a means of TV companies funding themselves by an efficient means as possible.  It's quite easy to do, too.  I simply turn down, or off, the sound and do something else, probably on my laptop, but keep watch for the typical screen changes when the programme is about to begin again.

It's still black history month, which may explain the heavier weighting of black presenters.

Nah - that's too many pies and not enough exercise. From the picture for quite a while for some of them.

I find it interesting that there is now a preponderance of black and brown faces on the telly, compared to white faces which certainly appear not to feature as often.  Perhaps there's a reason?

More to the point, why no yellow faces?

Quite possibly!
However, when teaching, I was presented with a Chinese girl who knew no English.  Not a word.
I tried as much as I could and was sent a Chinese person as translator, but that was only once a week.
Eventually, the girl became one of the best pupils in the class, but in all honesty not thanks to me.
The person who really made most of her progress was her dad who, though he had a full-time job, he did help her to an incredible level of progress.

I can see China increasing its confidence and ability on a world level, and admire them for that.  Unlike Russia, they don't seem to be preoccupied with expansion (apart from a tiny island just off their coast), and are making themselves stronger simply by competing with the West in respect of finance and sales.

My granddaughters attended an international school and as far as I can judge Chinese pupils had a hard life there, because their parents made them learn a lot, above all on weekends - little free time.
