Makes sense to me.

There is a possibility that the Tories could fix their problems but the signs are that they won't and will be consigned to history or merge with the LibDems who could then legitimately inherit the LibCons name the Tories earned.

I suspect that may well happen.  Many of the Tories in Westminster were clearly Liberals anyway, so a merger is perfectly possible.
That would leave only one right-wing party.  I hope that they do become a government one day.
