well, SSE are still trotting out the claim they, in common with other suppliers, they buy well ahead of time, so retail price reflects the higher wholesale price of months back

Which raises the question as to why the prices increased immediately when, by their own admission, they must have been using cheap gas bought months earlier.

The trick isn't in the asking it's in getting an answer. The same rip off is pulled with petrol prices, interests rates and probably other things.
