If they are all stacked cubes then yes it is 9 but only 4 definite cubes are visible.

We'll never know anyway as crabbyob only gets the questions not the answers

am i detecting a whinge, i didnt get this problem from Chris tha knows
i can of course give an answer, several in fact, would that draw a line under the thread? perhaps we dont require an answer, it is a tease, if i required a definitive answer i could have e-mailed Mike
:moon:

No whinge Mr crabbyob sir.

What we really need for your puzzles is a secret answer feature but there isn't one and I can't offhand think of an easy way to make one.

crabbyob

and as the more observant have already sussed i mostly dont have any answer
now this puzzle shows five cubes, any more are simply assumed...

klondike

You cant even count the one on the top. It might be a cuboid not a cube. As might some of the others. Assuming they aren't all just hollow shells.

Diasi

There are only the front 2 that can't be anything other than a cube shape, any other answer is dependent on assumptions so this is my answer.

He's been on PF.

Excluding hollow shells and hidden supports.
Of the cubes there is no way to declare any as definite cubes as any of them could be cuboids. At least two would have to be cubes but you can't say which. I think

A question with no answer.. What a waste of time.
