Limiting our Shopping

I have just read that Tesco's are going to limit the amount of some things that people buy.

Personally, I think this is a good thing.   Apparently it is to stop those people who panic/bulk  buy and clear the shelves so there is nothing left for anyone else.
I remember it being done with loo rolls a few years back,  and I think its selfish.

To be honest,  I hope more supermarkets follow Tesco's lead, too.

What is all this about anyway?
As I said in another thread recently,  I still think the Government knows more than it is telling us.

I think they know that the grid is fragile. The grid in Spain and Portugal had a big outage last year

There has been lack of investment matching the scramble to decarbonise it with renewables. Gas storage was cut (by the Tories I think) and gas fired is the backup generation if there is insufficient power which with the amount of solar in winter could be a big problem when we get the low wind periods that can happen in January and February.

You'll still be able to make a cuppa by using tea lights in a muffin tin to boil a little pan of water.  I saw that earlier today on FB

I'm pretty sure I've got a little flat camping stove and some gas bottles. I'd have to eat a can of something first as I have no kettle.

I think you'd need more than one tealight.
