Quote from: klondike on October 14, 2026, 11:46:59 PMI found a bolt in something or other from Tesco and got a nice voucher. A while later I had some ready meal or other from them and there were some maggots in the rice. I was going to send that to them but my wife insisted it should be reported to some public health part of the council which was done. Never heard a thing and not even a refund let alone a nice chunky voucher.
Mental note: avoid Tesco.  Thanks for the warning.  I have heard things about Tesco before.

Maggots in the rice?  I assume dead.

klondike

Yes they were dead. I can't recall exactly what type of meal it was other than there was a serving of rice as part of it. They were quite small about the same size as the grains of rice. Luckily I'm a customer of Specsavers.

Dextrous63

Well, that's a strange thing.  Not in a month of Sundays would I have thought that maggots would be found in rice.  Meat products, yes.  But not rice.

Alex

Were they attacking Saudi ?

There's Alex - straying onto topic again.

I have no more idea how we got here than I do on how the maggots or whatever protein laden animal delicacies they were got into the rice. Maybe in a similar way that nuts seem to get into all sorts of things these days. And in least one case a bolt which I assume was part of the machinery used to make or maybe pack the food.

Annoying aren't I?

I wonder whether the maggots were added to the rice intentionally for additional flavour.

It would seem that is that no one is very brave when it comes to attacking the Iranian backed terrorists of the world . Ie the Houthis

Up to now containment seemed to be the way .
As Israel tried  to manage Hamas in Gaza .
It didn't work as Oct 7th proved .
And instead of expressing sorrow at this atrocity the anti semitics of the world  backed the murderers

And behind it all is Iran funder of terror, murderer of thousands  of its own people
It's proxies block the straits .
Trump tried but his staunch allies ( the U.K. included) backed down
The world has allowed this Iranian funded terrorist group to hold it to ransom .
And it is still strong as it has shown by this attack on Saudi Arabia
It also shows the dangers of sitting on the fence and trying to deal with insane ideologies .
The Houthis who most of us regard as a bunch of savages appear to be far more powerful than we think
Far  from being defeated they have attacked Saudi Arabia not once but twice and no doubt will do so again .
So much for the free Palestine brigade who think of the Houthis  Hamas Hezbollah  etc as some sort of freedom fighters
They are not they are an evil cancer that is determined to destroy the world as we know it .
Where are the Saudi allies ?
Why is the world not joining  together to rid it of these terrorists ?
For the truth is total eradication is the only solution to these madmen .

Ashy

We didn't have all this trouble when we had empires.

muddy

We probably had troubles but we didn't have the internet to live stream it for us .

I agree.  As muslimism seems to be expanding, places like the UK can see it at first hand.  However, other nations which have not been infiltrated yet, cannot see what will eventually be their future as well as ours.

Islam is expanding throughout the world, initially in poor countries and those (like the UK) who don't have a strong government.  As it expands further, it will become more powerful, and the free world will eventually realise the forthcoming danger.

The ideal solution is for those who are more local to the terrorists (physically and ideologically) to say enough is enough and sort them out.

When distant countries get involved in long distance attacks or boots on the ground, this will nearly always lead to antagonism to interference, as well as only be short term, as we've seen time and time again.
