Mups

If you hear a loud scream,  it'll be me.

If I see anymore repeats of  the Rocky films  (Sylvester Stallone),   Harry bloody Potter,  or James flippin' Bond,   I will scream.

Why are they doing this all the time?
Harry Potter  had 3 films on the other night,  running one after the other for hours.
Sylvester Stallone has been on about every other week!
And all the old James Bond films - right back to Timothy Dalton - is on most weekends.

And why is almost every American film always about car chases and shootings?
Another one that is grossly overdone is the story about an ex-cop dragged out of retirement to solve one last  crime!!   How many times has that theme been done!!

Why are we getting all these ancient done-to-death films over and over again?
And why are the vast majority of films that are on  American films?
And why are 9 out of 10  about  murders?

Do we not make films in this country anymore?
Am I the only person left in the world that likes a proper story and a nice ending,  a  'feel good'  story instead of all this killing?

Moan over.  I'm off to bed.

Good Night! smiley 20

I have a big collection of old films on disk. I watched Groundhog Day the other day. An amusing love story with a happy ending. It wasnt on telly of course.

I seldom watch films.. There are so many to choose from.. It's not all crap..

CELEBRITY TRAITORS starts tomorrow..   :yahoo: :yay:
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

Mups

That's another thing -  why or why are there so many 'Celebrity'  programmes on?

Why do seem to think we are all obsessed with so-called 'celebrities' and follow their every move like an adoring 12 yr old?
There are so many celebrity shows on now,  game shows,  quizzes,  Traitors, Big Brother,  The Chase, and more that I can't think of the names of.  All with celebrities as contestants.
Come to think of it,  I've never even heard of some of them!

Come to think of when can someone give themself the 'Celebrity'  title, I wonder?

Raven

There's not a lot on I like at the moment, I spend more time on YouTube or with my audio books.
But it is what it is. I watched the 3rd Harry Potter film last evening "prisoner of azkaban" there's 2 that I like best, the other is the 5th one "order of the phoenix" should be on this weekend will record it.
I like detective stuff best,
Grimm,
Rebus,
Banks,
Murdoch,
Dresden,
Rizolli n Isles
Sherlock Holmes Films.

There is always an End of the World film, a huge lump of rock heading towards the USA, it's always the USA, Starring in no particular order

An American General with a badly fitted beret who wants to Nuke everything including the rock.
A pretty female scientist who is bloody clueless
A civilian, sinister, in black  who wants the shit to hit the fan so he can take over the country.
A discredited scientist , divorced husband of above who predicted this many years ago but has been ignored by everyone.
Three kids, offspring of the above with a laptop with access to all military missile launch sites and satellite systems who know how to save the world.
A Labrador

The scene
An underground military secret bunker with thousand of screens manned by anxious looking soldiers, scene constantly flashes to large rock in space spitting flames and noxious substances which will ruin the Clean Air Act for yonks
Clock..digital counting down to impact.. it's a Big Clock so deserves constant worried glances

I thought these were documentaries.  Every night, I get on my knees (behave yourself Scrumpy!!😬), put my hands together, close my eyes and work my way round a rosary saying "God bless America".

I can't remember when I last watched a film ...or any TV come to that.

I've never watched a Harry Potter film  ...or Lord of the Rings.
When I watched I liked old B&W Ealing Studio films  ... and a few memorable favouritres like Misery. Schindler's List, Terminator, Alien. The Gree Mile... Spaghetti westerns

You can only watch repeat TV series for so long too.
And soaps? They've gone downhill over the last decade or two.
