Old..old word.

Goitre. 
I haven't heard the word for many years.. until recently at the ENT  clinic..
I saw a scan of my thyroid.. many nodules on it..
The consultant who saw me was brilliant..
Blood test.. Ultra sound..
I get so tired.. sweating ( bad)..coughing..
joints hurting..Fed up..
They seem to be classic symptoms..
I know very little about any of this..
Has anyone else experienced this.?

 Have you got the results of the bloods and ultra-sound yet, Scrumpy?   Was a Goitre definitely confirmed?
I thought the neck swelled with a Goitre?   Is your swollen?
Have you been taking Thyroid medication?

Yes the neck is swollen with a goitre.  Years ago they used to give you Iodine drops in milk  no idea what today's treatment is.

I only saw the Consultant a week ago..
Waiting for an appt for ultrasound.. I have had the blood test..
No swelling on throat.. It was only spotted after CT scan..
They still mentioned the word goitre..
Hormone problems.. Overactive/Underacted Thyroid..
 I just wondered if anyone has had treatment for this..Or
knows of this..

I'd heard the word but would have been hard pressed to know the meaning. Luckily it's 6 letters so it can't mess me up in wordle.

Seems like they are using it as a symptom and will be treating it. The NHS website is usually good at explaining things.
