A very interesting discussion. However, maybe a bit one-sided as we say. We don't have any Royals, however, our "fomer" royals (the Hohenzollern) have enormous land and property, too, and managing this keeps them quite busy.
Royals are a luxury and rather expensive and I always had the impression that you are very proud of them and enjoy all that pomp and parades and don't want to miss it.

We don't actually need royals to have pomp and parades .

William is well known to be work-shy; if he wasn't a royal, he'd be pretending
 to be ill and on benefits. 

As for Harry's children, they are no more "brats" than Williams.

He held down a job as a search and rescue helicopter pilot for some years.

£132m odd. That's about two quid per head of the population. Personally I regard that as pretty good value.

Of course we may be getting
Charles III followed by economic collapse but that won't be the fault of Charles it will be the fault of the voters with short memories or perhaps believing socialism may work if tried again.

The real cost is much more  as security never figures into these calculations .
In fact there loads more doesn't we don't know about the cagey royal finances except  that they get richer all the time .

Charles didn't pay one penny of Inheritance tax on the millions he inherited from Queenie .
Not will William when his time comes .

There is something obscene about using the taxpayers money to support a mediocre uber privileged family  of multimillionaires ..
