I guess from my previous post is that I am something of a firearms history buff, something which drew sighs from SHMBO when I muttered things like 'film set in 1880', how come a Winchester 1894 is in use'
Best/worst example is in Zulu. Chard and Bromhead have revolvers - which is perfectly OK, except that they are brandishing Webley Mk VI weapons, which weren't in use until 1915 - 36 years later.. In 1979 they would have carried Adams revolvers - the Mk I Webley was introduced in 1980, but to be fair, it bore very little physical resemblance to the Mk VI

It is a pity when something you know destroys the illusion.

In Robert Powell's "39 Steps" he is seen looking out of a train window in 1914,  which bears a British Railways "First Class" device not seen before 1949.



Just have to suspend belief.

Only because I knew the name... My parents were fans. I wasn't.

I like these games best of all of them, they make me think more than 'things beginning with the next letter'. Its pity IMO not more of us join in.
