Does anyone know if it's against the law to have top only window openings on the ground floor ?  I've found plenty of stuff on Google about upstairs windows, they need to have a full opening window for escape, I just can't find anything on downstairs windows.

Ask Gemini or ChatGPT or some other AI

I used this prompt - is it against the law to have top only window openings on the ground floor in the UK. provide links.

Gemini came up with something to check out at least but it seems it depends on umpteen different things.

Thanks for looking Klondy, are those American sites though  ?

International - that's why the prompt should include  in the UK

The provide links will get it to supply the sources it based its opinion on

You are right to be wary. AI is more likely to make stuff up than say it doesn't know,
