Who is the window cleaning champion 2026 here?   'Cos   I need some advice please.

No matter what I use, and how wonderful they look,  as soon as the sun comes out I see all the smears.
It drives me nuts.

I can't get on with supermarket products I used to buy,  so for a while now I have been using the white vinegar in water with a bit of liquid soap,  all mixed in a sprayer.

I have tried polishing them with a soft cloth,  and newspaper  - and still smears!!

klondike

I recommend squinting. Preferably in the opposite direction to the offending windows.

Men don't get smarter as we age.  We just run out of stupid stuff to do.

Mups... You look too closely sweetheart..
I clean mine with Windolene spray ( added vinegar)..  Do I get smears.. Yes I do..
I rub them over again.. Until they are good enough..
Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

klondike

Solves the streaks for sure.

I might try a bit more today,  I'll see how I feel.    It perhaps wasn't a good idea to do them when the warm sun was on the glass I wonder?
This dodgy shoulder/arm  doesn't help either.
Good job I live in a bungalow as I wouldn't attempt any upstairs windows!

Neither do I       When I do attempt to clean them I use a scrim.

Ashy

I use clean water and a big sponge, and dry them off with a microfibre cloth.

About once every four years

I think I should have done that too, Ashy.

I don't think I wet them enough with just my fine spray, and the sun on the window was drying it too quick.

Raven

I don't clean windows that's something Dunc does, but at my own place I never cleaned windows when the sun was out.
