Has anyone tried this lately  ?
I've just spent 40 minutes trying to renew my licence what a bloody fiasco.  I'm not too bad on the computer, it was part of my job for years, so I can follow simple instructions    Ye Gods I had to first create a GOV.UK One Login account - easier said than done, couldn't log in until it dawned on me I needed to alter the size of the font on my phone - yes, I needed to use my phone too, just to make sure it was me !

In the end they said my information was incorrect, even though the details are all on my current driving licence. So I had to choose a post office to go to, but not before they'd sent me, by e-mail, a "Customer Letter" which I have to take to a post office of my choice.  If your licence is due to expire make sure you allow yourself a couple of days

Goodness,  what a palaver.
I think my renewal is due this summer, but I will give online a miss and go to the post office.

Don't like the sound of that  :worried: I was told it was an easy, quick option.

Ah I've always found the DVLA ok but I've had a gov.uk account for years dating back to when I was self employed through my own limited company which required contact with IR and VAT too.

I hijacked FB's thread, sorry FB  !

I've never had a problem renewing my road tax Klondy, I did it in December without a hitch.

Just spotted someone on Gransnet having the same problems as me phew !  then someone added 'if you think renewing over 70 on line is bad, wait till you need to do the over 80 renew'
