Interesting article in yesterday's paper. Norman Blackwell worked at No. 10 in the Thatcher and Major years. Back then there were fewer than 100 staff, most of whom were secretaries or typists. Apparently the place now has 400 staff. I'm sure government is now four times as efficient..

Same thing happened in Social Services when I worked, the admin staff increased significantly over the years, more and more paperwork although it was all entered on the computer as well.  Did the clients get a better service?  of course not.

They need all that staff now to try and work out what they are bloody saying.. Because no one person has any idea.. :hmm:

yes tHATCHER only required 100, but they were not required to have an opinion...
there are still 100 civil servants,
but now they need
100 gays
100 asians and,
100 afros
