Don’t do it..

As I have gotten older I tell myself ..
Do not hold on to the banister while climbing the stairs..
Don't shuffle your feet.. Walk upright.. Don't grunt ..
I make myself put my socks/ shoes on without sitting down.. Put trousers and knickers on without  holding on ..
I'm not saying it comes easy.. Many a time I topple .. But I do try..

I know it is difficult for some and they are not able to do things that they might have done a while back..
But do others tell/make themselves to do stuff without relying on objects to help them out. ?

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

My bust up leg put paid to me getting dressed standing up. I had to sit on the edge of the bed to get dressed, as it got easier I got faster and now I get dressed quickly. Not tried to do it standing again like I used to because I know my balance won't have it.

TBH I think it's better not to try if you feel at all unstable. By all means practice one foot standing when there is something close by to hold if it starts to go wrong.

They say you can practice one foot stands whilst brushing your teeth each day.  Then at least you can grab the wash basin if you feel wobbly.  :smiley:
