Crabby survived the place and went back every year.

But..

I worked with someone years back. His parents were Ugandan Asians and they ended up in Canada I think. Anyway Suresh Chaudhuri as he was had never been to India. He may never have been in Uganda either - I never asked. We were both working in Slough and getting a lift with him once was amusing - he was cursing all the Pakistani drivers and pedestrians in very non-PC terms but I digress... His father or maybe grandfather had died and there is some ritual where the bung the ashes in the Ganges. Before he could go there were several injections everybody has to have before they can. So off he went for I think it was a week. I didn't see him again for 3 months as he was so ill it was that long before he came back and by the look of him another month wouldn't have gone amiss. Those Indians in India must be some tough buggers.
