Cars with faulty Air Bags

Has anyone heard about this latest car problem?  It was on telly this morning.

It appears some drivers can be fined £2,500  and get 3 points on their license if they drive these cars with faulty air bags.

A BBC expert has said that people will face instant £2,500 fines and 3 points on their driving licence if they go on the roads in certain cars. Appearing on BBC Morning Live, presenter Louise Minchin said that 168,000 people are at risk of penalties

The BBC expert said the scale of the problem was 'huge' with 67 million airbags being recalled around the world.

She said: "In the UK there are recall notices for Audi, Volkswagens, and Seats, but Stellantis, which is the owner of Citroen and DS, is the biggest affected, and they've actually issued what is called a stop drive order, which covers 168,000, as you said, C3 and DS3s are built between 2009 and 2019."

My granddaughter Hattie hasn't been able to drive her car for a couple of months now because of faulty airbag..
The waiting list for repair is horrendous.. 
She used my car for a month.. She now has a rental car being paid for by the car company..
Her car is still off the road and no date given as to when it will be sorted..

A bumper sticker on a car was spotted in New York that said, " Jesus is my airbag"

Owners of cars with faulty airbags may be able to get compensation, especially in cases like the recent Citroën airbag recall, where some drivers are eligible for compensation and hire cars. 
Compensation can cover losses such as the depreciation of the vehicle's value, costs for alternative transport (like hire cars or taxis), loss of earnings due to the car being unusable, and general inconvenience. 
Drivers may also have the option of joining a group action lawsuit for this type of issue.
