This little cat used to frequent the shops at Cheshire Oaks and was well known to the shop assistants, she even had her own Facebook page.  Just over two years ago she disappeared without a trace.  Most people thought she'd jumped into a visitor's car and ended up in Yorkshire or further afield and to be honest I'd forgotten about poor Gimli.    Then today her owner posted on Facebook that she had been found thanks to her chip !

What a lovely ending to her story, if only she could talk.

That's good news indeed, Alex.
The owners must be so glad they had her chipped.   :upvote:

That's lovely.

As a completely random aside, I've just been watching a YouTube short clip which explained/informed that the M&S at Cheshire Oaks is by far the largest in the country.  Funny old things, coincidences.

Our NextDoor forum often has missing cat posts and some people go on posting way past what I considered to be sensible. I was proven wrong recently when one post was to say that a cat had wandered back home. I forget how long it said the cat had been missing buy it was certainly many months. I reckon they try their luck elsewhere from time to time and if they get better service they stay..

One of our two cats, sisters, but the black one is much smaller than the B&W one.  She's perfectly healthy, and can dart around light lightning, but rarely eats.  We have thought that whenever she goes out she must visit a neighbour who must feed her.
Fortunately, she always comes back.

A cat will choose where it wants to stay..
My neighbour's cat used to come into my home..  and make itself comfy..
It was a very shy cat.. but we got on..  I never fed it.. and I did tell my neighbour.. He was pleased that the cat was happy.. He wondered where it was going in the daytime. Lovely company..

A ginger cat wandered into my kitchen ages ago. It didn't want to go back out. I took it's photo and laminated together a notice which I put on the lamppost outside and was preparing to go and get some cat food when the ungrateful bugger wandered out again and vanished. I found later that it had moved in a few doors away. I expect they put cat food ahead of a notice.

A paper collar is the recommended way to find cat owners - that's if you can get close enough to attach one !

I think he means that we should attach paper collars to all cat owners, presumably so that we know that they own cats.

Aha.  That makes sense.  Although, and this is absolutely terrible of me, I thought Alex was a she.😳🥹
