.... when you buy stuff does it always seem to come with crappy wall fixings...

... so you decide to use some better ones you already have?

But then comes the bigger WHY....

Why do you hang on to the bloody things still in their bags in a draw somewhere for probably decades knowing that you'll never use the things?

Or perhaps you don't?

Alex

I do
Has everyone got a kitchen drawer like this ?

Mups

That's very organised and tidy next to my kitchen drawer, Alex.

Has anyone ever thrown away a charging cable.  I rarely do, for the obvious point .... "Just in case".

Reminds me of a maths teacher I used to work with.  She never threw away any paperwork nor worksheets.  She must have had a quarter of a million sheets of A4 paper in several piles on top of cupboards, in filing cabinets etc.  And yet, if you ever asked her if she had a (maths) worksheet on something, no matter how random and obscure it might be, she could invariably go to the correct pile or drawer and dig it straight out of whatever pile it was, first go.  Amazing.

I decided to throw out every bit of paper that was ever left lying around my classroom at the end of each week.  Over the 25 or so years of doing this, there was only two occasions when I should have kept a particular piece.

I've got 2 and they probably have less useful stuff in than your one Alex

I really should tidy them and chuck out the crap. Of course as soon as I chuck anything out.... well I'm sure you know.

Those packets of useless fixings aren't in there though. No room. They are in a draw in a plastic organiser set of draws that is also chock full of crap.

It's not that long ado that I chucked out a sizeable plastic stacker box full of umpteen types of cables. I think they had been breeding. There were loads of those red white and yellow audio/video cables that I swear I never bought that must have come with stuff dating back to the 70s maybe. Scart leads too. Remember them? Lots of various types of USB and RJ45 network cables along with phone cables and those splitter filters for phone line internet connections.

I chucked them all out because I wanted a box to store a new generation of cables I will likely never need that may last as part of my children's inheritance unless I need a box again.
