Nadine Dorries has chosen to join  Reform ..
Saying ' The tory party is dead'...

She is right.. It died under the leadership of Johnson.. way back..

This is the first time that I can admit to not knowing who the leader of the tory party is..
I bet there are many people who, like me, have no idea who their leader is..

Starmer.. Because he is such a terrible leader is well known..
Angela Rayner ..  because of her property scam.. I doubt will make Prime Minister..

Farage !!!  Must be loving it all.. He is all we have left.. No opposition... Few choices..

The next few years, months even, will be very interesting...

Don't ask me.. I know nuffink..

The rats are deserting the sinking ship it seems.

If it would just keep up we'd have a party with a majority of disaffected Labour and Tory MPs  and enough to bring the government down in a confidence vote. It seems MPs can see the writing on the wall and know which side their bread is buttered.  Here's hoping.

Anyway that's enough idioms for today.

Don't really see what Dorris brings to the party.  She couldn't be arsed to turn up at Westminster nor her own constituency for over a year iirc, but happily took the salary and perks.

If I were reform, I'd deny her membership.

Dextrous63

Bad news for Reform.  The new Labour cabinet has just had its first meeting and it looks like they're properly organised now....

Thank you for the days, the days you gave me

Anyone know why we need a ministry of justice as well as the Home Office? And a foreigner running each?

Dextrous63

No idea.  FWIW, I'd have sent Lammy and Cooper to the back benches and brought a completely new pair in, who maybe haven't got their heads so firmly up their own derrières.

Sadly the pool of talent is rather shallow at the moment, even at the deep end.

klondike

It's a shallow pool everywhere.

I hope the idiots who voted this shower in will never make the same mistake again. Surely even those with IQs lower than their shoe size can't.

If only we could have a doze ban for a while.

Meanwhile... decisions, decisions

They could, of course, just go for a straight like for like replacement..

Alex

David Lammy has been given the job

He's deputy pm, which isn't the same as deputy Labour leader.  I thought the same as you until yesterday Alex.  Starmer can (and has) appoint the former, but the party has to vote for the latter.  Well, that's what I think, which may also be wrong 🤷🏻♂️

That's correct, it falls to the general secretary of the labour party to organise the election when there is a vacancy for deputy leader.  That person is Hollie Ridley.

I didn't realise Dex.  So..is Starmer the Prime Minister AND leader of Labour Party and Rayner was Deputy PM and Deputy Leader of Labour Party  they both held two positions then ?
