I did just have one more try,  but useless again.
Like Scrumps,  I'd never heard of the word.

By sticking to the same starting words, which then eliminates letters, as klondike and I do, before hazarding any guesses, you are pretty much guaranteed to solve every one.  I don't know how to explain any more clearly, I know my words are the same as k's, but they have the same effect.

I will add that you need to work out some words that use commonly used letters in English words and try ro avoid duplicate letters in those words

My first 3 words cover 15 letters all commonly used. My 4th word does duplicate a vowel already used.

I play safe and don't guess if I see multiple possible words

Guessing wrong obviously uses a turn and normally reveals little. Where I will guess is where I see two and two only options. Miss with the first get it with the second. Except of course where you didn't spot a third possibility
