I agree Crumply. I believe it's Latin, which is a bit of a cheat. I had to go through every possible letter for the last part. If they want to use Latin, it could also have been an 'O'.

You misunderstood me. The word is a plural. English has adopted the Latin plural form for many adopted Latin words. It is slowly dieing out though probably due to our transatlantic cousins.
