The way to not get beaten is to not start guessing the word too early. Eliminate common letters first as that reduces your choices for what letters are missing. It won't give you a low score but will go a long way towards stopping wipeouts.

What you seem to be doing is what the settings call "Hard mode".....

Phew.

I use a similar system to klondike. I use three words, with the most regularly used letters in them.  Very occasionally I might get a three, I fluked a two, but I usually score four.  Five today, my fourth guess was valid, but incorrect.   Just keep trying!

It's really helpful when doing the multiples like Octordle (only klon & I).
