You should keep trying. 

I'd suggest that you try eliminating letters rather that chase down a word from just a few misplaced letters. I usually don't start guessing until I think there is a good chance of getting the word from what has turned up already. Sometimes there are a lot of valid options but only one of them can be the right one and each try takes a turn from the 6 you have.
